Position Overview:

The Business Application Analyst plays a crucial role within the Information Technology department, responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing business applications to support organizational goals. This position involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs, evaluating existing systems, and implementing solutions that enhance operational efficiency and user experience.
Responsibilities:

System Solutions: Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates user needs to create systems solutions that support overall business strategies.

System Development And Implementation: Documents system requirements, defines scope and objectives, and creates system specifications that drive system development and implementation.

Liaison: Incumbents function as a liaison between IT and users and have both business and technical expertise.

Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document business needs and translate them into technical specifications.

Application Analysis: Evaluate and analyze existing business applications to identify areas for improvement, optimization, and alignment with business goals.

Solution Design: Design and develop new applications or enhancements to existing systems, ensuring they meet user requirements and industry standards.

Data Management: Ensure data accuracy and integrity through regular monitoring, validation, and maintenance of data within applications.

User Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, addressing issues and ensuring a smooth user experience.

Training and Documentation: Develop user training materials and conduct training sessions to empower users in effectively utilizing business applications. Maintain up-to-date documentation of systems and processes.

Testing and Quality Assurance: Plan and execute testing procedures to validate applications, ensuring they meet functional requirements and are free from defects prior to deployment.

Project Management: Participate in project planning and execution, tracking progress, managing timelines, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between business units and IT, facilitating effective communication and understanding of technical concepts and project updates.

Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

Change Management: Assist in managing the implementation of new systems or updates, ensuring user adoption and minimal disruption to business processes.

Ongoing Maintenance: Maintains, updates, and patches applications.
Experience and Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field, preferably an MCS or MBA

Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

Detail-oriented & strong organizational & analytical skills

High degree of professionalism and high sensitivity for confidentiality

Experience with various technology concepts

Superior written and spoken communication skills in English

Strong analytical skills

4-7 years of experience in business analysis, application support, or a related role within an IT environment.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc., and on various work sites for system installations and inspections.

Sufficient visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing computer monitors, and reading technical manuals.

Capability to effectively communicate information and ideas verbally and in writing, ensuring clear and efficient transmission of instructions and feedback.

Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds occasionally, such as servers, networking equipment, and boxes of supplies.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, interspersed with periods of standing, walking, and occasional bending or crouching to access equipment and installations.

Occasional travel to other company locations, vendor meetings, and industry conferences, which may involve driving or other modes of transportation.
