Position Purpose

Work as a full-time on-site medical interpreter, to facilitate verbal communication between English speakers and LEPs (Limited English Proficient) individuals by interpreting the message from one language to another while maintaining register and accuracy. May also include scheduled VRI (Video Remote Interpreting) as needed.

Skills and Attributes

Candidates must possess the following skills and attributes:

• Certified or Qualified Healthcare Interpreter through a national organization & OHA in Spanish.
• Demonstrate native or near-native fluency in both source and target languages.
• Excellent listening, communication, organizational and customer service skills.
• HIPPA certification.
• Available to travel to various work sites.
• Must provide proof of Covid Vaccination
• Must meet  vaccination requirements or be willing to meet within the first month of employment
• Must be willing to take a 12-panel drug screen

Essential Functions

1. Provide interpretation services at assigned locations for in-person, scheduled video interpretation, video relay interpretation, or over-the-phone interpretation.
2. Recruit interpreters on-site whenever possible.
3. Distribute marketing materials as needed and communicate effectively with the Client Relations department.
4. Provide support to on-site interpreters as needed.
5. Other tasks and duties as assigned

Qualifications:

1. Education:                    <wbr></wbr>                              <wbr></wbr>             State certified or state qualified medical interpreter in Spanish.

   Required Knowledge:                    <wbr></wbr>                       Compreh<wbr></wbr>ensive understanding of the interpreting profession and National Standards of Practice for Healthcare Interpreters. Required knowledge of HIPAA, state, and federal laws.

   Preferred Experience:                               <wbr></wbr>            Minimum of three years of onsite interpreter experience. 

   Skills/Abilities:             <wbr></wbr>                              <wbr></wbr>             Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint).   Ability to work independently as well as on a team.

   Required Work Hours: 40 hours per week

   Job Type:

   Full-time, 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday. Availability to work occasional times outside of shift depending on need.
